Recently, my friend Dr. Richard Hipps shared this outline with his congregation. He said he read it in an article, and since I like it I thought I'd pass it along. The four storms in scripture are as follows:

Storms of Correction: a storm due to your own sin.
Storms of Connection: a storm you experience because of other people's sin.
Storms of Perfection: a storm intended to grow you.
Storms of Reflection: a storm giving you the opportunity to glorify the Lord.
